She wanted life
All that it entailed
on the back of bikes
crossing grassy lawns
hand in hand
she wanted it all
Pursued it as though it was running ahead
Captured and straddled it on grassy knolls
Held it’s hand on sandy beaches
It wasn’t enough

She wanted love
Massively engaging
Unable to be ignored
Sweat oozing from pores
Manifested from anger and pain
Disorienting and dizzying
Wanting was too much
Need was not enough

She wanted gratification
The satisfaction of knowing
life and love were in her reach

She wanted him.
